Head of Alumni and Development (at the rank of Assistant Registrar) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref: 532946) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration or related disciplines with at least 10 to 12 years’ relevant work experience in development, alumni relations or communication, including at least 6 years’ experience with supervisory role, preferably in a tertiary institution or a public organization. They should have deep knowledge of the principles and practices associated with fundraising in higher education; solid understanding and network in business environment; outstanding written and verbal communication skills, preferably with public speaking skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to motivate engagement and to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the Faculty and to work independently and as part of a team.
The appointee will design, develop and implement comprehensive engagement strategies and programmes that strengthen relationships with donors, alumni and other stakeholders, and enhance their lifelong connection and continued support to the Faculty. He/She will manage and maintain strong lines of communication between alumni and the Business School; oversee the planning and execution of alumni activities in Hong Kong and the Mainland China to enhance alumni engagement and cultivate connections; establish fundraising strategies and take an active role in cultivating and soliciting major donors to achieve the goals; and assist the Faculty Dean and his delegates in overseeing grant proposal development and fundraising initiatives. The appointee will also facilitate the growth of the HKU Business and Economics Alumni Association and provide secretariat service; work with the Communications Team to oversee the production and distribution of digital/printed engagement materials for alumni and donors; and manage the Alumni and Development team to translate strategic development objectives into engaging campaigns to meet desired objectives.
