THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG
The Chinese Medicine Hospital (CMH) is a flagship institution operated by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), commissioned by the Hong Kong Government dedicated to the development and provision of Chinese medicine (CM) services in Hong Kong. It also stands as a first-of-its-kind local hospital showcasing the collaborative efforts between Western and traditional medicine to the world.
The 400-bed CMH, scheduled to open to the public in 2025, aims to offer comprehensive CM care, ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promote advanced and specialised CM services. The CMH will pioneer integrated Chinese-western medicine (ICWM) services to cater to different patient needs. Inpatient, day-patient and outpatient treatments and also community services will be offered by the CMH. Both Government-subsidised services and add-on market-oriented services will be provided to ensure accessibility and to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the community.
With a view to prioritising education, training, innovation and research, including collaboration with local and overseas universities to advance evidence-based clinical research and develop CM theories and clinical applications, the CMH is now looking for the following talent to join our important mission.
Head of Support Services (23240977)
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as the Head of Support Services, reporting directly to the General Manager (Administrative Services and Human Resources). This senior role will oversee and drive key management functions within the Administrative Services Division, ensuring alignment with the organisation's mission and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the General Manager to define and implement policies and strategies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Administrative Services Division, including domestic support services, procurement, materials management, and facilities oversight.
Senior Management Support
- Provide high-level support to senior hospital management in the development and execution of strategic initiatives related to domestic and support services.
Operational Excellence
- Lead the managerial functions across various critical areas, including:
- Domestic and Supportive Services
- Procurement and Materials Management
- Laundry and Linen Supply Services
- Health Information and Records Management
- Emergency Preparedness
- Community and Media Relations Coordination
- Green Management
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between diverse departments, fostering collaborative relationships to ensure seamless operations and service delivery.
Oversight of Accreditation
- Oversee hospital accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and continuous improvement in service quality.
Crisis Management
- Develop and implement strategies for emergency preparedness, ensuring the organisation is equipped to respond effectively to unforeseen circumstances.
Additional Duties:
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager, contributing to the overall success of the support services.
Requirements:
- A university degree or equivalent in a relevant field with at least 10 years of relevant work experience;
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and handle on-call duties as needed;
- Proven expertise in hospital accreditation processes and standards;
- Strong team player with exceptional collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams;
- Excellent strategic and operational management capabilities; and
- Outstanding project management, risk management, crisis management, operation efficiency, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are required.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in December 2025. Subject to performance and the decision of the CMH, the offer of further appointment, if any, will be made by the CMH.

Work location: Kowloon Tong Campus and will be moved to Tseung Kwan O Chinese Medicine Hospital when close to commissioning.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
