Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of technologically advanced services and spaces within the CollabTech Commons, ensuring optimal functionality and accessibility;
- Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of the Library’s research data services;
- Manage the acquisition, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of technological equipment, including 3D printers, prototyping machines, VR stations, AI-LLM systems, etc;
- Design and deliver engaging beginner- and intermediate-level hands-on workshops on equipment use, Python coding, research data software, and related topics for university students and faculty;
- Collaborate with commercial and academic partners to organise or support HKBU students in technical exhibitions, competitions, or innovation-driven initiatives;
- Foster a culture of creativity and innovation by providing expert technical guidance, resources and staying at the forefront of emerging technological trends; and
- Undertake administrative and additional tasks as needed to support the Cluster or the Library.
Requirements:
- A relevant master’s degree with at least four years’ experience managing technological spaces and equipment, OR a bachelor’s degree with at least ten years of relevant experience;
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering technology-related training, preferably in an academic or library setting. Previous library experience is advantageous;
- Strong proficiency in makerspace technologies, with proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues;
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; and
- Fluency in both English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 3 years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in the range of HKD 54,870 to HKD 92,965 per month.
