GENERAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICE

Reporting to the Director of General Administration, the appointee is expected to provide professional support to the Secretariat team within the General Administration Office and University-wide projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the Secretariat team which provides professional services to inter alia, the University Council, the Court, Council Committees and Board, Task Forces, senior management and University-wide projects;
- Policy formulation;
- Assist in overseeing the regulatory and compliance requirements of the University and its subsidiaries as well as other related affiliates;
- Support the University’s institutional risk management;
- Liaise with external organisations such the Government of the HKSAR, UGC, LegCo and other stakeholders;
- Contribute to the overall management of the Office by undertaking resource planning and shaping its future direction;
- Event coordination; and
- Other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree (preferably a higher degree) in business administration or law or corporate governance or a related field with a minimum of 15 years post-degree full-time relevant work experience, of which 10 years should be in a supervisory capacity in sizeable publicly listed organisations, public organisations or tertiary institutions;
- Experience in higher education secretariat work, particularly in writing policy papers, reports, proposals, meeting minutes and speeches etc. and relevant knowledge in handling matters related to the Greater Bay Area for institutions in Hong Kong, would be highly advantageous;
- A good knowledge and experience in corporate governance/secretarial and legal matters would be useful;
- Excellent leadership skills, strong sense of responsibility, proven organisational and supervisory abilities;
- Attention to detail, meticulous, strong analytical skills and problem-solving, good communication and interpersonal abilities and capable to work independently under tight timelines; and
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit a written test.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of 3 years. Reappointment thereafter will be subject to satisfactory performance, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
