Assistant Executive Officer (25260044)
The Office of the Dean of Science is seeking a highly motivated administrator to join its team as an Assistant Executive Officer. Reporting directly to the Head of Faculty Administration, the appointee will engage in various job functions within the Office and gain hands-on experience in general administrative duties in a university setting, as well as participate in formal projects and events. Depending on operational needs and personal strengths, the appointee will be assigned to:
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing various projects, including events, promotions, and liaison duties;
- Support a range of academic and research matters, such as providing secretariat services to committees and working groups, and handling programme admissions and administration; and
- Contribute to day-to-day operations, including preparing reports and formal documents, and managing records.
The appointee may also attend to other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Applicants should possess a recognised bachelor’s degree. Relevant work experience in tertiary education institutions will be an advantage but not a must. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following qualities and competencies:
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
- A proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility;
- Willingness and ability to handle routine and tedious work with a meticulous and detail-oriented approach;
- Good interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team; and
- Proficient in common office software (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and IT skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
