The Office of Knowledge Transfer (OKT) serves as a bridge between the HKUST research community and industry, creating collaboration and innovation from the University research outcomes and capabilities. OKT manages inventions and Intellectual Properties (IP) of HKUST, formulates strategic commercialization plans, identifies potential collaborators with faculty members, and establishes commercialization projects with industry partners. OKT also incubates and supports HKUST’s technology-based start-ups and encourages entrepreneurship development.
We are inviting passionate and competent professionals to join our dynamic knowledge transfer team for the position:
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager (Incubation Management) will support the operations and administration of the about-to-launch deep tech incubator, focusing on incubation activities, stakeholder engagement, and overall management. Specific responsibilities include:

Incubation Support:
- Provide incubation services and operational support to start-ups and tenants.
- Assist in executing incubation programs, including facilitation of admissions, events, and support for start-ups.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth program operations.

Communication:
- Manage communications with start-ups, partners, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate external communications to promote incubation activities effectively.

Operations Management:
- Oversee the implementation of policies, processes, and administrative functions related to the incubator and Institute of Healthcare Innovation.
- Provide operational support for incubation spaces, ensuring effective day-to-day management, including document keeping, budgeting, scheduling and billing.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Head (Innovation Infrastructure Development) and other internal teams to ensure the effective execution of incubation processes.
- Engage with internal departments and external partners to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 3 years of work experience in incubation management or junior management role in scaled companies.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Core Competencies:
- Experience in business management.
- Strong skills in communication with various stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
