Ground Support Equipment Manager

The role
• Oversee all GSE operations, both on a daily operational level and in terms of planning processes and productivity improvements. • Develop and continuously refine improvement plans with input from the Management team • Act as a substitute for decision-making during the absence of the Safety Manager to ensure systematic and unbiased GSE monitoring. SAFETY • Ensure all equipment is maintained to a safe standard. • Conduct regular risk assessments for every type of GSE in use • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe operation of each item of GSE or vehicle. • Complete any safety modifications to equipment as quickly as possible. • Collaborate closely with the Menzies CNAC Safety Team to improve the safety of ramp operations. • Thoroughly investigate any accidents involving GSE and implement all follow-up rectifications immediately. SERVICE DELIVERY AND IMPROVEMENTS • Ensure adequate GSE is available and serviceable, on time, for MCAT’s operations, especially at peak period. • Review GSE deployment to improve planning and allocation regularly. • Act as primary contact point with GSE maintenance/modification partners • Track and analyze the operational reliability and performance of all GSE, and provide regular update reports. • Ensure GSE complies with all airlines, authorities, and Menzies CNAC standards and requirements. • Source, evaluate, and make recommendations on potential GSE and vehicle purchases • Monitor performance and efficacy of any GPS tracking system, its hardware, and maintain the list of permitted users in conjunction with the Ramp Training Team. • Ensure the timely annual airside vehicle license renewal for all GSE.
The Person
• Higher Diploma or above in engineering or relevant disciplines. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant areas; experience in the aviation industry is a plus. • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of process and change management. • Strong product knowledge with the ability to analyze and improve operational processes. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong people management and leadership abilities. • Good understanding of business operations and organizational dynamics
