The Academy of Music (https://mus.hkbu.edu.hk/web/) has rapidly emerged as one of the leading institutions in Hong Kong, providing a rigorous music curriculum. The Academy is poised to significantly strengthen its capacity for nurturing the advancement of the creative arts with the completion of the Jockey Club Campus of Creativity, which provides resources for a wide array of creative arts disciplines.
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals for the position of Senior Executive Officer. As a valued member of our administrative team, the appointee will contribute to the seamless functioning of the Academy of Music.
Responsibilities:
- Academic Programme Management: Take a leading role in overseeing and managing academic programmes, ensembles and events ensuring their successful implementation and execution;
- Secretarial support to the Academy’s committees: Prepare meeting agenda, minutes and papers for various committees or taskforce groups;
- Research activities and the related assessment / accreditation exercises: Coordinate the matters related to the assessment and /or accreditation exercises for the Academy;
- Online Media and Communications: Design, update, and maintain visually appealing and up-to-date online media platforms and communication materials that accurately represent the Academy;
- Financial Management: Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting;
- Administrative support in the areas of human resources and office operation; and
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other assigned duties by the Director of the Academy.
Requirements:
- A recognised relevant bachelor’s degree or above with 5 years of administrative experience, preferably in a higher education setting;
- Excellent command of English, Chinese and Putonghua and proficient in MS Office and English word processing;
- Ability to develop creative solutions to challenges and a willingness to accept challenges and adapt to changing circumstances;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work under tight schedule and pressure;
- A good team player with the ability to multi-task and be attentive to details; and
- Social media and design experience is a plus.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
