The Department of Interactive Media (IMD) aims to nurture students to be the next generation of communication professionals poised to harness the latest digital media technologies to effectively deliver intended messages to target audiences with interactive and engaging contents on diverse media platforms. IMD offers a new transdisciplinary senior year programme and a transdisciplinary second major in Interactive Media Publishing.
The appointee is expected to provide secretarial and administrative support to the department and the new academic programmes. The appointee will work in a friendly environment to provide support in the day-to-day operations of the Department and programmes, including but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative and executive support to the faculty members and Department Head;
- Organising departmental and programme-related meetings, activities and events, preparingreports and minutes, maintaining records and documentation;
- Managing budgets and purchase/payment processing;
- Promoting and managing academic programmes, including student recruitment, teaching assignment, curriculum maintenance and other programme-related matters;
- Liaising with internal and external units/parties; and
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or above with at least five years of relevant work experience or comparable competence;
- Good command of spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua, and excellent English and Chinese writing skills;
- Proficiency in computing applications, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as Chinese and English word processing;
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility; and
- Self-motivated, pleasant, able to work independently and in a team, able to work under pressure and capable of being open.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a writing test.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years, commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
