Temporary Programme Manager (QEF Project) in Oriental Studies Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law
Duties: The appointee will assist the Programme Director in the coordination and administration of the “Quality Education Fund (QEF) Thematic Network - Designated Themes on Learn and Thrive Together – Supporting Kindergarten Students in Learning Chinese” project. The appointee will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum. Key duties include leading the teaching team in planning and developing school-based curricula to ensure alignment with learning objectives; maintaining close collaboration with participating schools and teaching partners; overseeing curriculum delivery and quality assurance; ensuring compliance with relevant educational standards and policies; and driving continuous improvement in pedagogy. The appointee will also work closely with other project staff to monitor the progress of teaching support, provide regular feedback, and implement timely refinements to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Requirements: Candidates should possess a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of teaching and teacher training experience in Chinese language education, and a minimum of 8 years of overall teaching experience. Strong command of written and spoken Chinese and English is required, along with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The candidate should possess over 5 years of administrative and curriculum development experience, particularly in school-based curriculum planning. Leadership and team management experience, as well as the ability to coordinate cross-departmental tasks, are essential.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will be on temporary basis with expected end date of 31 August 2026.
