Major Duties:
(a)
To perform teaching duties in Information Technology and Mathematics modules at sub-diploma level, including supervision of students’ projects / fieldwork placement;
(b)
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
(c)
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
(d)
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental events and functions including but not limited to open days, admission exercises, consultancy services, taster programmes, seminars and exhibitions; and
(e)
To participate in campus projects, events and functions such as open days, admission, short courses, consultancy services and taster programmes.
Requirements:
(a)
A recognised degree in relevant disciplines, such as Information Technology, Mathematics, Multimedia, and Computer Engineering / Sciences, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
(b)
Good communication, facilitation and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
(c)
Strong commitment to serve the youth and with experience in managing less academically-inclined students;
(d)
Good understanding of the Senior Secondary Academic Structure, the development of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework, and VTC’s Diploma of Vocational Education Programmes;
(e)
Preferably with experience in teaching sub-diploma courses, curriculum design and development, student admission, discipline and related work;
(f)
Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage;
Notes:
(1)
The post is in the rank of Teaching Associate.
(2)
The work location is in YC campuses.
(3)
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a written assessment in English.
(4)
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and / or in designated places as assigned.
(5)
The appointee is subject to posting in different sites to suit the Council’s operational needs.
(6)
In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
