Job Summary
As a part of the SCOR L&H team, this position will assess and offer expert insights on underwriting life and critical insurance policies. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of meticulous underwriting services for the Hong Kong market, in line with the defined service standards.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Underwrite life and critical illness insurance applications within the limits of delegated authority in accordance with the company's underwriting guidelines.
- Evaluate client requests for changes to underwriting guidelines and provide recommendations that are suitable for the market.
- Assist in conducting client underwriting review and suggest operational improvements.
- Evaluate internal procedures and propose enhancements to strengthen risk management.
- Establish and uphold professional relationships and communication with client underwriters.
- Guide junior underwriters and facilitate training sessions aimed at enhancing underwriting skills.
- Assist in compiling regular management report.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of life and critical illness (CI) underwriting experience.
- Presently possesses underwriting authority for mortality and critical illness products, with the authority to provide sub-standard decisions.
- Possessing HNW underwriting authority is not mandatory, but it is advantageous to have.
- Comprehensive understanding of mortality and critical insurance products in Hong Kong.
- Good proficiency in written & spoken English and Chinese.

- Confident and engaging manner when dealing with clients or peers at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgment and commercial awareness.
- Ability to be flexible and work with several products and clients.
