The Center for Language Education (CLE) is committed to becoming an international leader in language education through innovative program design, application of technology, and scholarship of teaching and learning. We teach required courses in English and Chinese to over 6,000 UG and PG students each semester, as well as elective courses.
The Center is looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of Assistant Officer (Administration). Reporting to the Center Manager, the appointee will ensure an efficient administration of the Center including program and course management.
Major duties of the appointee include:
- Provide counter service to the CLE;
- Provide general clerical and administrative support, including non-credit-bearing courses, regular update of the CLE Staff Handbook and CLE websites content, Center-wide academic/professional events and activities;
- Assist with financial matters including procurement, reimbursement, travelling and staff development claims;
- Manage facilities and house-keeping;
- Liaise with other internal units, vendors, and various stakeholders;
- Any other duties as required.
Applicants should possess a higher diploma / diploma’s degree or above with at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification work experience. Candidates with a good track record in reception service and financial systems are preferred. Effective communication with a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is a must. The appointee should be reliable, well-organized, detail-oriented, meticulous, able to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines, and observant in managing stakeholders. Proficiency in computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing are required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
