The Opportunity
The Senior HR Manager position at Brunswick Group will work alongside the Asia-Pacific and global People team leadership to advance the firm’s People strategy and execute a regional HR strategy that enables all colleagues to excel. The global People leadership team is charged with setting and operationalizing the firm’s strategic People agenda, and the Senior HR Manager will be integral in all aspects of this as we develop our business around the world.
Based in the Hong Kong office, the Senior HR Manager will work in close partnership with the Chief People Officer and Global Head of Learning and Talent Development to ensure that policies and initiatives are shaped and delivered in accordance with Brunswick’s strategic ambitions. It is important this person is highly collaborative and has an exceptional track record providing high-quality support for colleagues. They will be expected to act as a trusted advisor and reliable business partner to regional and functional leadership, other internal stakeholders, as well as provide continuous feedback to the specialist HR teams for ongoing process improvement.
About the Role
Strategy and planning
- Work collaboratively with Leadership and People Team Colleagues to develop and execute the strategy and planning for the People team in Asia-Pacific, aligned with Brunswick’s firm strategy and in collaboration with the global People leadership team
- Assist in designing the frameworks and enhancements that support the quality of our employee experience and use of employee resources
- Responsible for appropriate engagement with stakeholders and delivery of the agreed plans across all sectors, practice groups, geographies and functions
- Ensure agility of plans and resources to meet changing requirements
Organizational development
- Work with Asia-Pacific Leadership to ensure that the region has the capacity, set-up and capability to thrive in a challenging and evolving market
- Ensure effective frameworks are in place, and aligned with the global approach, for personal development planning, appraisals and performance reviews
- Support and develop mentors and line managers in driving a high-performance culture through continuous feedback, mentoring and inclusive leadership practices
Policies, systems and procedures
- Review processes and procedures to ensure they are streamlined, cost effective and add value
- Work in collaboration with resourcing teams and the global Learning and Development team to ensure goals are optimized and client needs are matched with the development goals and capacity of our people
- Oversee the development and review of a portfolio of People policies and procedures that balance best practice with practical application, including regular benchmarking and comparison to the external market
- Utilize data analytics, KPIs and benchmarking to provide better management information and forecasting to support decision-making
Colleague experience
- Promote effective strategies to raise awareness and access to our wellbeing services, ensuring the colleague experience is always of a high quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and meaningful employee touchpoints from integration to offboarding
- Develop and oversee regional initiatives that enhance workplace culture, recognition and employee connection
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Asia-Pacific leadership team on employee sentiment, engagement trends and experience-related interventions
- Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships that support experience-related programs
Colleague and stakeholder engagement
- As part of the APAC People Team, foster a collegiate and cohesive team environment covering colleagues during periods of leave to ensure seamless coordination across the APAC People team
- Provide guidance and mentorship to a junior colleague based in Hong Kong, fostering their professional development.
- Socialize changes in policy, practice, and resources with senior management proactively
- Ensure all communication, which may be complex, contentious or sensitive, is undertaken in a responsive and inclusive manner, focusing on improvement and ways to move forward
- Ensure all communication is presented appropriately to the different recipients, according to levels of understanding, type of communication being imparted and possible barriers such as language, culture, understanding or physical and mental health conditions
- Communicate regularly and effectively within and across teams to bring others with you, encouraging inclusive participation and eliminating discrimination
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a seasoned HR professional with at least 7 years of experience, including time spent in a global organization, who can partner effectively across all levels of the business. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong judgment, and a hands-on approach to solving complex people challenges.
